Emmy went to the Mall in Spokane to meet Santa Claus over our break. At first it was tons of fun and she was super excited, but then the terror struck: the little girl in front of her was afraid of Santa. Oh no! What should she do? That’s right. She should cry… and cry she did. Poor girl! Maybe next year…

This year Emmy was the star of our Christmas card – this is the picture we used! She very much enjoyed this outfit, especially because she could point at the Reindeer toes, one of which has a red nose like Rudolph!

Contrary to popular belief, Emmy has proven that there most definitely is a wrong way to eat a Reese’s. (Take the wrapper off, Emmy!)

A few months ago, Julia’s friend gave a class on cake decorating, so Julia was excited to use her newly-found skills to decorate a cake for Emmy’s birthday. The cake looks really, really good, and has a picture from Emmy’s favorite TV show, The Backyardigans. (Extra points if you can name the character). Doesn’t the cake look great? She did an excellent job. I’m sure Emmy will be very excited to eat it at her birthday party. Thanks for the help, Angela!

On the night that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows came out, Christian and Emmy got dressed up in their Harry Potter costumes (Christian is Ron and Emmy is the Golden Snitch) and we waited for the book to be released at 12:01 at our local bookstore. Christian and I both said that the other would fall asleep before midnight, but we both stayed up. Julia is now almost finished with book 6, Christian is well into book 7, and I am have only four books to go. (As long as you count the ones I listened to on CD).

Emmy loves bath time. After seeing how much she enjoyed her trip to the pool with mommy and other friends, we’ve given her more and more baths. She’s lucky enough to have a bathroom all to herself, and she loves to play with her rubber duckies. Also, dad got too much sun helping out at the student picnic that day.
