Last week we got back from a visit to Julia’s grandparents in Central Oregon. We had a lot of fun, and it was exciting to see Emmy warm up to her great-grandparents again. We’re visiting my grandparents in August, so we’re excited that Emmy will have met all her living grandparents and great-grandparents!
Enough talk, here are the pictures you’ve been waiting for! For more, click the Photos link above.
At first Emmy was a little scared of her great-grandpa Cecil, but she definitely recognized him by the end of our trip.
Emmy loved to bring books over to her great-grandma so that they could look at pictures together.
One of the highlights of the trip for Julia was going to Ponderosa Pizza, a restaurant she remembers visiting often as a kid. Aside from the (slightly) newer video games, the place hasn’t changed much.
Emmy’s great-grandma found a little scooter for Emmy for just 75 cents. Emmy’s great-grandpa gets around on a scooter, too, so they had lots of races around the kitchen.
Although it was pretty cold (especially considering that it was June), we spent a couple of days driving around to different sites in Central Oregon. This picture was taken at a lake where Bruce used to work when he was a teenager.
Emmy loved playing with Pudge. For the first couple of days she was scared to death of their dog, but we decided to kick a soccer ball around with Pudge and Emmy loved her after that. We wore that poor old dog out three days in a row, after which she would go for a swim in muddy water. Emmy does a pretty good impersonation of Pudge now, sticking out her tongue and panting on request. We’ll have to get more pictures of that for sure!
